Robert T. Bergsten was born in Long Beach, California, on January 12, 1968. Rob and his family live in Westwood, California. A graduate of Boston University, Rob received his B.A. degree in Political Science with a minor in History in 1990. He is a 1993 graduate of Pepperdine University School of Law.
Mr. Bergsten is admitted to the California Bar, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeal, Ninth Circuit. He is a member of the Los Angeles and American Bar Associations, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute. In 2000, Rob was honored by the ASCDC as being one of its outstanding trial attorneys of the year. He often serves as a lecturer and guest speaker.
Mr. Bergsten has extensive trial experience in both State and Federal courts. He serves as chief trial counsel for Budget Rent A Car, Mercury Insurance Group, and Great West Casualty Co., among other clients. His practice includes all areas of insurance defense and civil litigation with particular emphasis on the defense of wrongful death, serious personal injury, and other catastrophic claims resulting from truck accidents, personal automobile accidents, and a wide range of general liability cases (e.g., construction accidents, third party crimes, slip/trip and falls, etc.)
Mr. Bergsten has served on the Los Angeles Superior Court Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Panels for the past twelve years. He has successfully resolved hundreds of cases in this capacity. Rob also serves as a private mediator for cases involving personal injury, insurance coverage, premises liability, construction defect, and product liability.
