Susan E. Luhring was born in San Francisco, California, on January 26, 1960. She graduated cum laude from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1981, receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English. Ms. Luhring then attended the University of San Diego School of Law, graduating with her Juris Doctor Degree in 1985. While in law school she received the American Jurisprudence Award in Corporations.

Ms. Luhring is admitted to the California Bar, the United States District Court for the Central and Southern Districts of California, and the United States Court of Appeal, Ninth Circuit. She is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Pasadena Bar Association, as well as the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel and the State Bar of California.

Ms. Luhring is an experienced litigator with a broad background in all areas of insurance defense. She has tried both bench and jury trials involving motor vehicle negligence and premises liability, and has handled over 1,000 arbitrations, binding arbitrations, and mediations.

For clients ranging from individuals and small business, to large commercial construction companies, Ms. Luhring has defended a wide variety of cases including personal injury, construction site accidents, wrongful death, motor vehicle negligence, wrongful termination and premises liability. She also handles examinations under oath, coverage, uninsured motorist, subrogation, and SIU matters for her insurance company clients.

In addition, throughout her career, Ms. Luhring has handled multi-party construction defect litigation arising out of projects as varied as single family residences, condominium complexes, and large planned residential communities. Her clients have included architects, engineers, developers, and general contractors, as well as subcontractors in various trades including framers, roofers, electricians, finish carpenters, graders, door and window manufacturers, suppliers and installers, and elevator manufacturers. With her extensive history managing complex litigation, Ms. Luhring is a very capable negotiator and mediator.

Ms. Luhring has also served as a mediator for the Los Angeles Superior Court.
