Kevin E. Barry was born in Belleville, New Jersey on September 17, 1962. After graduating from Arizona State University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, he returned to New Jersey and obtained a degree in Political Science from William Paterson College of New Jersey. Thereafter, Mr. Barry attended the University of San Diego School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctorate degree in 1990. While completing his law degree, Mr. Barry also completed work toward a Masters Degree in International Relations.

Mr. Barry was admitted to the California Bar in 1991. He was also admitted to the Arizona Bar in 1991. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Central and Eastern Districts of California, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Arizona. He is a member of the State Bar of California, State Bar of Arizona and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel. Mr. Barry is also a licensed real estate appraiser.

Mr. Barry has worked for some of the largest defense firms in Southern California and just prior to joining Hosp, Gilbert, Bergsten & Hough, he expanded his trial and U.M. Arbitration experience as senior trial counsel for a major insurance company.

Mr. Barry has developed considerable experience in all aspects of insurance defense litigation, with an emphasis on the defense of fraudulent claims, construction defect, products liability, premises liability and uninsured motorist claims. Throughout Mr. Barry’s 16 years as an attorney, he has successfully tried numerous jury trials and participated in over 300 arbitrations and mediations.

Mr. Barry has acted as Regional Counsel for Allied Signal Inc. (Bendix Corp.) and Uniroyal, Inc., representing their interests in asbestos litigation involving major injury and wrongful death suits. In addition, he has handled construction defect claims in both Southern California and Arizona defending general contractors, sub-contractors and design professionals.
